As a Civil Engineering Operative, you’ll be an essential part of our on-site team. From preparing the ground for building work to assisting tradespeople in their daily tasks, you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in a variety of construction projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Ground Preparation: Prepare sites by digging trenches, mixing concrete, and laying foundations for building structures.
- Support Skilled Tradespeople: Work alongside builders, electricians, and other specialists to complete various construction tasks.
- Scaffolding & Frame Construction: Set up and remove scaffolding, ensuring a secure and efficient working environment.
- Surface Work: Lay pavements, resurfacing roads, and complete groundwork for drainage and utility installation.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations on-site to ensure a safe and productive environment.
- Operate Construction Machinery: Use hand tools and machinery (e.g., drills, excavators, dumper trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Site Marking & Setup: Assist with marking out site boundaries and setting up safety barriers and signage.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Reliability: Proven ability to work effectively and consistently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for accuracy and high standards in every task you perform.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to collaborate with the team and follow instructions.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Civil Engineering Operative or in a similar construction role is an advantage.
- CSCS Card: A valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card is essential to work on our construction sites.
